FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Bride and Groom

What is included in your fees?
Because every event is customized, every estimate is custom-designed based on a number of different factors including but not limited to cost of goods, labor, staff required, etc. Tax and Service Charge are added to appropriate items.

Where does your food come from?
Chef Kara prides herself on sourcing the highest quality available ingredients within the budget provided. Depending on the season, ingredients are sourced from her garden, foodservice purveyors, local farms and specialty stores. Wherever the best ingredients are to be found, that is where they come from.

Is your menu flexible or can we only pick from pre-selected options?
Chef Kara is always flexible. Even if you are choosing from a menu that is packaged, there is always room for customization.

Can we do a tasting in advance?
Due to scheduling restrictions, Chef Kara is unable to provide a tasting. However, she recommends reviewing her Google reviews as well as testimonials on Instagram to find out more about her food and her performance.

Will you set the table for us?
In most cases, with advanced communication, Chef Kara's staff will be able to set the table with foodservice items including china, flatware, glassware and napkins.  For events at Promise Ridge, the easiest way to explain is that we set up and clean up and you just show up and enjoy your day. Since all the details are finalized well in advance, we know exactly who is doing what.

Based on the timing of our events, what time will you arrive to start setting up?
Chef Kara knows how long her travel and preparation will take and plans accordingly.

Do you offer options for kids, vendors, and guests with special dietary needs?
Absolutely! There are multiple kids-meal options, a reduced price for vendor meals as well as dietary accommodations for almost any concerns.

Once we send you our guest count, do you allow changes to be made?
Once the final payment has been received, no changes to the guest count will be made.

How do you handle gratuity for your staff?
Gratuity is entirely at the discretion of the client. Chef Kara takes great satisfaction in providing a professional and well-trained staff for all her events.

What does your staff wear?
Chef Kara's staff wears understated black pants and shirts with a black and white striped apron, depending on their role.

What area do you primarily service?
In addition to Chef Kara's private catering, which takes her anywhere in the Poconos and beyond, she is proud to work on the culinary team at The Lodge at Mountain Springs Lake, be one of three chefs at Promise Ridge, and looks forward to presenting her next project - Mazzetti Farm B+B (opening 2025).
